The power of vision boards in achieving your healthy goals + adding joy to life!

Since I’m on a mission to help as many people as possible unleash their happiest, healthiest version of themselves, it’s got me wondering…what does your happiest, healthiest YOU look like? Have you given it some thought? Do you have a vision?

Did you know that something as simple and low-tech as visualization is one of the most powerful tools in achieving your goals? The use of a Vision Board has been scientifically proven to trigger visualization, keeping our goals in focus and aligned with the daily demands of life. When we look at the images representing what we want to achieve, we imagine the enjoyment and fulfillment we will experience and are much more likely to make it happen. Bonus: For those who love do to crafts or channel your inner creative animal, this is a win-win for you!

We all have personal goals around things like nutrition, fitness, healthy family, energy, or vitality. But life has a way of getting in the way. Life gets busy. Personal goals get pushed aside and buried under piles of laundry, homework, errands, kids’ activities, and work. Or sometimes we feel just plain STUCK.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could keep our healthy goals front and center so they can stay HIGH on the priority list? Weaving them into the long daily list of to-dos rather than letting them get trampled or stay buried?

Perhaps your own personalized Vision Board is just what you need to create a meaningful visual representation of your healthy goals. Some call it a Dream Board. Putting your dreams into visual images is a powerful way to bring priority back to the things that are most important to you. When you have a clear vision, you’re one step closer to making it happen!

No creativity, artistic talent, or experience necessary – just an open heart and ideas around your personal goals. No need for fancy-shmancy supplies either (unless that’s your jam, of course). Just a poster board, piece of cardboard, or even large piece of paper will do for your surface. And you can add your images in lots of ways: clippings from old magazines, cute stickers or stamps, special photos or mementos that represent your goals and get your creative juices flowing, or drawings for the artistic ones out there. It’s a fun activity to do as a group too, so maybe you invite some friends to join you for a vision board get-together (bonus: you can share each other’s cool supplies).

Most of all, have fun! I’ve shared with you an example of one of my very own past vision boards at the top of this post. Have you created your own vision board? Share about your experience in the comments below.
